From idea to execution Henley Lockdown Fest took just three weeks. Created by Eight Ray Music founder, Jayson Jaurigue (JJ), the festival had two objectives, 1. To bring happiness into people’s homes and 2. Raise £20,000 for the NHS and mental health charity Riverside Counselling Service. The festival’s programme was designed to ensure there was something for everyone to enjoy, encompassing everything from yoga, fitness, cookery demos and children’s entertainment to celebrity interviews, wine tasting, live music, DJ sets and game shows.
There was no marketing budget for the festival, which meant the team had to get creative to reach as many local people as possible while raising awareness for the charities. To achieve this, the marketing tactics used included competitions, interactive fundraising, influencer marketing and even the creation of an official Henley Lockdown Fest song. The entire event was streamed live and, due to social distancing, a small tech and broadcasting team delivered the weekend of events with Graham Bell hosting the weekend.
